There are one hundred (100) U.S. Senators — two from each of the 50 states. Every state has equal representation in the Senate regardless of population.
This equal representation was part of the Great Compromise at the Constitutional Convention, balancing the interests of large and small states.
Senators serve six-year terms, and elections are staggered so roughly one-third of Senate seats are up for election every two years.
Say: 'One hundred' or '100.'
