Susan B. Anthony fought for women's rights and fought for civil rights. She was a leading figure in the women's suffrage movement.
Anthony spent over 50 years campaigning for women's right to vote. In 1872, she was arrested for voting illegally — women were not yet allowed to vote. She was convicted and fined $100 (which she refused to pay).
The 19th Amendment, which gave women the right to vote in 1920, is sometimes called the 'Susan B. Anthony Amendment' in her honor. Her face appears on the Susan B. Anthony dollar coin.
Say: 'She fought for women's rights.'
