The Supreme Court is the highest court — its decisions are final and apply to the entire country. Below it are federal appeals courts and district courts that handle cases involving federal law.
The judicial branch interprets laws, resolves disputes, and most importantly, decides whether laws are constitutional. This power — called judicial review — makes the courts a critical check on both Congress and the President.
Say: 'The Supreme Court.' It's the most well-known part of the judicial branch.
