Category: American Government
The three branches of government are: Legislative (Congress — makes laws), Executive (the President — enforces laws), and Judicial (the courts — interprets laws).
Remember the mnemonic LEJ: Legislative, Executive, Judicial. Congress hands the baton (law) to the President to run with it, and the Courts watch to make sure everyone follows the Constitution.
You can answer with either the formal names (legislative, executive, judicial) or the informal names (Congress, President, the courts). Both are accepted.
Say: 'Legislative, executive, and judicial.' Or: 'Congress, the President, and the courts.'
