Americans vote for President in November. Specifically, Election Day is the Tuesday after the first Monday in November.
This date was set by Congress in 1845. November was chosen because the harvest was over (most Americans were farmers) and winter weather hadn't yet made travel difficult.
While the presidential election gets the most attention, November elections also include congressional races, state and local elections, and ballot measures. This question is on the 65/20 senior list.
